Canada’s Wonderland is making changes to this year’s Halloween Haunt event, introducing a new chaperone requirement and a no re-entry policy. The spooky festivities will run on select nights from September 26 to November 1, featuring popular attractions like the Corn Stalkers maze, live performances, and themed merchandise. An exciting addition for fans of The Conjuring will offer an immersive experience where participants become paranormal investigators.
To enhance safety and minimize disturbances, guests aged 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult chaperone who is 21 or older and can oversee up to 10 individuals. Additionally, visitors over 16 entering the Halloween Haunt after 6 p.m. must carry identification.
Grace Peacock, the director of public relations at Canada’s Wonderland, emphasized that the chaperone policy aims to maintain a positive experience for all attendees. The park’s decision aligns with industry best practices and ongoing evaluations to ensure guest satisfaction.
A key aspect of the new policy is the prohibition of masks and costumes for individuals aged 12 and above, promoting a secure environment. Each guest is allowed one appropriately sized bag to distinguish them from costumed actors who provide the scares.
Past incidents near Canada’s Wonderland have influenced these measures, including criminal activities and disruptive behaviors in previous years. Local businesses, like Döner Xpress, have expressed support for the chaperone policy, citing concerns about unruly behavior from park visitors.
Danusha Rogowski, the area manager of creative services at Canada’s Wonderland, highlighted the extensive preparations required for attractions like Corn Stalkers, which involves importing thousands of corn stalks for the maze setup. The park’s commitment to safety and guest satisfaction remains a top priority as they gear up for this year’s Halloween Haunt.
These changes aim to provide a secure and enjoyable experience for all attendees at Canada’s Wonderland’s Halloween Haunt event.
