Blue Jays’ standout player Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is in the running for his second consecutive Silver Slugger award. Major League Baseball announced the finalists for its annual awards recognizing the top offensive performers at each position in both leagues. Toronto’s shortstop Bo Bichette and designated hitter George Springer were also named finalists. The winners, determined by votes from Major League managers and coaches excluding their own players, will be revealed on November 7.
Guerrero, who claimed the AL first-base award in 2021, achieved a batting average of .292 with 23 home runs and 93 RBIs, with only 94 strikeouts in 589 at-bats. Bichette, despite missing the last three weeks of the regular season due to a knee sprain, ranked second in the majors with 181 hits and posted a .311 average along with 18 home runs and 94 RBIs.
Springer, eyeing his third Silver Slugger accolade and first since 2019, enjoyed a remarkable 2025 season with a career-best batting average of .309, 32 home runs, and 84 RBIs at the age of 36.
