The Ottawa Redblacks have appointed a new head coach and general manager. Ryan Dinwiddie, who led the Toronto Argonauts to two Grey Cup victories in a span of five seasons, will now helm the coaching responsibilities previously held by Bob Dyce. Dyce was relieved of his duties following Ottawa’s 4-14 season record, which led to the team missing the CFL playoffs.

In addition to coaching, Dinwiddie will also take on the role of general manager, a position previously held by Shawn Burke, who took on the new role of vice-president of football operations in December 2021.

Dinwiddie’s transition from Toronto to Ottawa was facilitated by the promotion offered by the Redblacks. Ottawa’s recent struggles have seen them miss the CFL playoffs in five of the last six seasons since their defeat to the Calgary Stampeders in the 2018 Grey Cup.
