A chainsaw has been recalled in Canada and the United States due to a risk of laceration. Individuals in possession of the Milwaukee Tool M18 FUEL 12” and 14” top handle chainsaws are advised to cease use immediately, as per a federal recall and safety alert. The alert highlights that the chain brake’s functionality may not entirely halt the chain movement when activated, creating a laceration threat.
Milwaukee has identified that chainsaws bearing the letter “A” as the fourth character in their serial number are impacted. As of October 21, no incidents or injuries related to this issue have been reported in Canada. However, the company has been informed of a laceration incident in the U.S. and two associated occurrences.
Individuals in possession of the affected chainsaws are urged to reach out to Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation for a complimentary repair. They can enroll their tool at Milwaukee Tool’s eService Tool Support to receive a prepaid shipping label for sending in the chainsaw for repair. The recall was a collaborative effort between Health Canada, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, and Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation to ensure public safety.
