Toronto Blue Jays leadoff batter George Springer has claimed a Silver Slugger accolade following a remarkable season resurgence. Springer secured the award as a designated hitter and was also nominated for his outfield performance. The 36-year-old American athlete smashed 32 home runs and recorded 84 RBIs, boasting a .309 batting average and a .959 on-base-plus-slugging percentage, which ranked second in the American League. His performance in 2025 marked a notable comeback after a lackluster 2024 season where he hit a career-low .220 with only 19 home runs. With four All-Star appearances and a World Series MVP title in 2017, Springer had previously clinched Silver Slugger awards with the Houston Astros in 2017 and 2019. One of his standout moments this year was hitting a three-run homer in Game 7 of the AL Championship Series, propelling the Blue Jays to the World Series, where they ultimately fell in a thrilling seven-game series to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
