Canadian actor Simu Liu, known for his role in Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” has recently gotten married to Allison Hsu, a music industry executive. The wedding took place over the weekend, as confirmed by Liu’s publicist to CBC News on Tuesday. The celebrations were initially reported by TMZ in France.
The couple publicly announced their engagement in May 2025 during a trip to Paris, and have since shared images from various wedding-related events in Mexico and a summer visit to Paris. They have been open about their relationship on social media, with Liu mentioning their partnership in interviews.
Liu, originally from China and raised in Toronto, is set to reprise his role as Shang-Chi in the upcoming film “Avengers: Doomsday.” His portrayal of the Marvel hero has propelled him to international fame, following his success in the CBC comedy “Kim’s Convenience.”
In a recent interview with People magazine, Liu expressed his admiration for Hsu, stating that he feels supported and cherished in their relationship. Apart from his Marvel role, Liu has been involved in various projects, such as playing Ken in the film “Barbie,” voice acting in “In Your Dreams,” and starring in the spy thriller series “The Copenhagen Test.” Additionally, he made his Broadway debut in the Tony-winning comedy “Oh, Mary!” earlier this year.
