The Toronto Blue Jays have included one of their top hitters, Bo Bichette, in their lineup for the upcoming World Series showdown against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Bichette, who has been sidelined since September 6 due to a left knee sprain, was named in the team’s 26-man roster for the best-of-seven series.

The Blue Jays disclosed that Bichette will be stationed at second base and occupy the cleanup spot, a decision made just hours before the commencement of Game 1 at Rogers Centre on Friday night. In addition to Bichette, outfielders Myles Straw and Davis Schneider were given starting roles, while Nathan Lukes, Addison Barger, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa will be available as bench options.

Recent days have seen Bichette making progress by engaging in base running, defensive drills, and honing his hitting skills in the batting cage. His return to the lineup marks a significant development for the Blue Jays as they gear up for the World Series challenge.

Furthermore, infielder Ty France has been added to the 26-man roster while reliever Yariel Rodriguez and outfielder Joey Loperfido have been omitted. During a team workout session, Bichette was seen fielding ground balls at second base, with Andres Gimenez shifting to shortstop in his absence.

Expressing his readiness to contribute in any capacity necessary, Bichette stated during a media interaction, “I’m comfortable with whatever the team needs me to do. So I’ll be ready for whatever.”

With a strong regular-season performance that saw him lead the team in hits, Bichette’s presence brings added depth and skill to the Blue Jays’ lineup for the Fall Classic. Despite facing discomfort earlier, Bichette appeared more at ease during recent practice sessions, showcasing his agility and smooth swing.

The Blue Jays have opted for a lineup comprising 14 position players and 12 pitchers for the World Series, deviating from the 13-13 mix used in their previous ALCS victory. Bichette, a two-time American League hits leader, aims to make a valuable contribution to the team’s quest for a championship title.

As the Blue Jays prepare to face the Dodgers in the World Series, the inclusion of Bichette adds a potent offensive threat to their lineup, boosting their chances of clinching the coveted title.
