One of the memorable lines from the TV show “Heated Rivalry” — “I’m coming to the cottage” — is soon to turn into a real travel opportunity for enthusiasts. The lakefront property featured as “The Cottage” in the season finale of Crave’s popular hockey romance series will officially open for bookings on Airbnb, as confirmed by the rental platform on Tuesday.
Known as the Barlochan cottage, this three-bedroom retreat located in Muskoka Lakes, Ontario, has sparked lively discussions among fans since its appearance in the episode. Protagonists Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov spend their summer at the cottage, where their private retreat transforms into a pivotal moment in their relationship, marked by honest conversations about their fears, families, and prospects for the future.
Boasting expansive lake views and floor-to-ceiling windows, the cottage is renowned for its intense dialogues, heartfelt discussions, and unforgettable experiences, according to a press release. Starting March 3 at 12:00 PM ET, guests can reserve weekend getaways at the cottage until May for $248.10 CAD per night, a tribute to Hollander’s and Rozanov’s jersey numbers: 24 and 81. Summer bookings will commence on June 1, with pricing details to be revealed at that time.
The property’s owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, collaborated closely with Airbnb to facilitate the listing. In celebration of the Barlochan cottage’s debut on Airbnb, the platform will contribute to the Children’s Foundation of Muskoka, a charity supporting underprivileged children in the region. The donation amount was not disclosed by the company.
