Justin Bieber broke a new record at the American Music Awards by clinching the Best Male Pop Artist title for the fifth time. Hailing from Stratford, Ontario, Bieber had previously won the award four times, starting back in 2010 when it was known as Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist.
This year, Bieber was nominated in four categories at the Las Vegas ceremony, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for his work on “Swag.” With this latest win, Bieber’s tally of American Music Awards now stands at 19, putting him on par with the late Kenny Rogers for the second-most wins by a male artist. Michael Jackson retains the top spot among male artists with 24 awards.
Recently, the singer, known for hits like “Peaches,” made a triumphant return to the stage at Coachella, his first major performance since halting a tour in 2022 due to health issues related to Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
Among the big winners at the awards show were BTS, who secured Artist of the Year, and Sabrina Carpenter, who nabbed Album of the Year.
