In Game 3 of the World Series, Shohei Ohtani made history by hitting two home runs and achieving a major league record of four extra-base hits. Ohtani’s outstanding performance included drawing five consecutive walks in the epic 18-inning game, becoming the first player in 83 years to reach base nine times in a single game, let alone in the postseason.

Despite Ohtani’s remarkable effort, the Los Angeles Dodgers secured a 6-5 victory with Freddie Freeman’s walk-off homer in the 18th inning. Reflecting on his achievements, Ohtani emphasized the team’s win as the most important outcome and shifted his focus to the next game.

Ohtani’s impressive display continued as he contributed a ground-rule double, a solo home run, and an RBI double in the game. He tied the game with a solo home run in the seventh inning, marking his sixth home run in the Dodgers’ recent games and equalling Corey Seager’s postseason home run record.

Throughout the game, the Toronto Blue Jays intentionally walked Ohtani multiple times to prevent him from scoring, showcasing their strategic approach. Ohtani’s performance made him the first player to be intentionally walked four times in a postseason game, nearing the all-time record set by Andre Dawson in 1990.

In an exceptional feat, Ohtani reached base nine times in the game, a record achieved by only a few players in baseball history. His remarkable statistics and multiple home runs in the postseason have solidified his position as a standout player, captivating fans and showcasing his talent on the field.

Ohtani’s stellar performance in the World Series has garnered attention and admiration from fans, highlighting his impact on the game and his crucial role in the Dodgers’ lineup. With his exceptional hitting and base-reaching abilities, Ohtani continues to make a significant impact on the team’s playoff journey.
