“Pedestrian Fatally Struck by OPP Cruiser in Essex County”

A collision between a pedestrian and an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) cruiser in Essex County resulted in the death of a 19-year-old woman early on Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on County Road 20 close to Iler Road in Harrow, as stated in a news release by the Special Investigations Unit of the province.

The OPP officer, stationed at the Essex County detachment, was driving the cruiser at the time of the collision. Subsequently, the woman was transported to a hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is currently conducting an investigation into the matter and is seeking individuals who may have witnessed the event or have relevant footage to come forward and assist the investigators. The case has been assigned two investigators, two forensic specialists, and one collision reconstructionist.
