The Ottawa Redblacks terminated head coach Bob Dyce following the team’s sixth consecutive loss to end the season. The decision was made after Ottawa’s 35-15 defeat against Hamilton, which marked the club’s failure to qualify for the CFL playoffs for the fifth time since their appearance in the 2018 Grey Cup.

Bob Dyce had been part of the Redblacks since 2016, initially as the special-teams coordinator before transitioning to head coach in 2022. Under his leadership, Ottawa achieved a 9-8-1 record and secured a playoff spot after five years in the previous season. However, the team’s performance declined this year, finishing with a 4-14 record. Throughout his tenure as head coach, Dyce amassed an 18-39-1 record.

General manager Shawn Burke expressed the challenging nature of the decision, acknowledging Dyce’s dedication and strong work ethic during his time with the team.
