The 55th annual Juno Awards continued on its second evening with captivating performances by Rush, The Beaches, Daniel Caesar, Cameron Whitcomb, and more. The night saw The Beaches clinching the group of the year award for the third time, Daniel Caesar securing the contemporary R&B recording of the year for his album “Son of Spergy,” Cameron Whitcomb winning breakthrough artist of the year, and bbno$ taking home the fan choice award.

Tate McRae from Alberta emerged as a standout winner at the banquet held on Saturday, having secured six awards in the years 2024 and 2025, including artist and single of the year for “Greedy.” This year, she added four more trophies to her collection for artist, single (“Sports Car”), pop album, and album (“So Close to What”) of the year.

Among the awards handed out on Saturday, the songwriter of the year went to Daniel Caesar, also known as Ashton Simmonds. The fan choice award, the only other prize Tate McRae was nominated for on Sunday, was claimed by Vancouver rapper bbno$. Despite her multiple wins, Tate McRae did not attend the ceremonies on Saturday.

The Sunday awards included categories like fan choice, breakthrough artist or group of the year, group of the year, and contemporary R&B recording of the year. Notable wins on Saturday included singer Aysanabee securing both the alternative album and contemporary Indigenous artist or group of the year awards for “Edge of the Earth.” Additionally, a tie occurred for the adult alternative album of the year between Bahamas’ “My Second Last Album” and Begonia’s “Fantasy Life.”

The evening also featured a heartfelt moment when Hamilton’s Raquel McIntosh received the MusiCounts teacher of the year award. The performances included Cameron Whitcomb singing his track “Options” and William Prince performing “For the First Time.” The event paid tribute to Joni Mitchell, who received a lifetime achievement award presented by Prime Minister Mark Carney. Nelly Furtado was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, with a tribute that included a virtual appearance by Drake.

Billy Talent received a humanitarian award on Saturday, while Daniel Caesar received an international achievement award early on in Sunday’s show. The Juno Awards celebrated various music genres with awards for artists across different categories, showcasing the diverse talent in the Canadian music industry.
