Tegan Quin, part of the pop-indie duo Tegan and Sara, has contributed to the Marvel Comics pride special one-shot, titled “Wiccan & Hulkling: Raid of Ultron #1,” set to be released on May 27. This comic showcases the beloved gay couple Wiccan and Hulkling, emphasizing the significance of community and connection during challenging times.

In Quin’s narrative, beautifully illustrated by Luciano Vecchio, the story revolves around twins Wiccan and Speed as they unite to combat Ultron while navigating their distinct paths as siblings. Quin expressed her excitement for writing about Wiccan and Speed, stating that as a twin herself, these characters were particularly special to her within the Marvel Universe. She also mentioned that her Marvel debut with this story was not only thrilling but also felt magical, drawing parallels between fighting Ultrons in the comic and overcoming challenges in the music industry.

“Wiccan & Hulkling” will also feature contributions from writers Wyatt Kennedy, Josh Trujillo, and Zoe Tunnell, along with artists Rachael Stott, Bradley Clayton, and Stephen Byrne. Tegan Quin, who resides in Vancouver, is currently advocating for Loghan Paylor’s novel “The Cure for Drowning” on Canada Reads 2026.

Canada Reads is an event where five Canadian celebrities select one book for the entire nation to read. They engage in debates over their choices, eliminating one book daily until the ultimate winner is determined. This year’s edition is scheduled to run from April 13 to 16.

Throughout her career, Tegan, along with her sister, has launched ten studio albums, featuring popular tracks like “Closer,” “Where Does The Good Go,” and “Walking with A Ghost.” Their music has garnered immense success, earning them Juno and GLAAD awards, a Governor General’s Performing Arts Award, as well as nominations for the Polaris Music Prize and the Grammy Awards.

In 2019, the twins expanded their writing endeavors from songs to books by releasing their joint memoir, “High School,” and a middle-grade graphic novel duology titled “Tegan & Sara: Junior High,” illustrated by Tillie Walden. Moreover, they established the Tegan and Sara Foundation to provide support and investments in 2SLGBTQ+ communities, leading to their recognition with the Humanitarian Award at the 2024 Junos.
