The United States clinched a 3-0 victory over Canada in the International Para Hockey Cup, securing their fourth title in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Declan Farmer played a pivotal role for the U.S. team, scoring a power-play goal in the second period and sealing the win with an empty-net goal in the final minute of the game.

American head coach David Hoff praised his team’s performance, highlighting their solid effort throughout the tournament. Malik Jones initiated the scoring with a short-handed goal in the first period, intercepting a pass and beating Canadian goalie Corbin Watson. Farmer extended the lead in the second period with a skillful goal near the crease.

Goalie Griffin LaMarre made 11 saves to secure the shutout at Ostravar Arena. This victory marks the U.S.’s fourth consecutive IPH Cup championship since the competition’s inception in 2022. The Americans dominated the game, outshooting Canada 23-11 and converting one of their four power plays while holding off all five Canadian power plays.

Canada had previously advanced to the gold-medal game with a decisive 9-1 win over Italy. The Para Cup will be hosted by Canada in Dawson Creek, B.C., from Nov. 30 to Dec. 6, serving as their final international event before the Milan-Cortina Paralympics in March. Canadian forward Greg Westlake expressed optimism for the upcoming season, emphasizing the team’s unity and commitment to improvement.
