Despite being close to playing in Game 5, Schneider opted to give Springer additional rest. The veteran player had an impressive regular season, hitting .309 with 32 home runs and 84 RBIs. However, he has been battling injuries in the playoffs but has managed to contribute with a .246 batting average, four home runs, and nine RBIs.
Both teams held optional workouts at Rogers Centre after returning to Canada, with Schneider noting the challenges of the early morning return and navigating the city’s rush hour traffic. Meanwhile, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is considering deploying Shohei Ohtani as an opener or outfielder if a Game 7 is necessary, weighing various strategies to maximize their chances in the series.
