CF Montreal has terminated assistant coach Maxime Leconte after an internal disciplinary review. The Major League Soccer team made the announcement without disclosing the specific reason for Leconte’s dismissal, citing confidentiality. Leconte, a 35-year-old French native, had joined the coaching staff in May and was with the club for only a short period before his departure. This decision comes following Marco Donadel being appointed as CF Montreal’s permanent head coach two weeks ago. Donadel had assumed an interim role in March and navigated the team through a challenging season that concluded with a 6-18-10 record. CF Montreal had the youngest squad and the lowest salary budget in Major League Soccer.
