Canadian creative duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are set to breathe new life into the classic Canadian series, “The Littlest Hobo,” as part of Bell Media’s upcoming screen projects. The reimagination of the beloved show will be an hour-long, live-action scripted drama consisting of 10 episodes.

“The Littlest Hobo,” which originally aired on CTV from 1979 to 1985, follows the story of a clever and ownerless German shepherd that roams from town to town, aiding those in need along the way. Rogen and Goldberg, describing the original series as a fundamental part of their childhood, expressed their enthusiasm for introducing it to a new generation.

The duo assured audiences that while the hobo may remain “little,” the adventures portrayed in the revamp will be significant, debunking any expectations of a giant canine akin to Clifford. Production specifics, casting details, and the show’s premiere date will be disclosed at a later time.

Hailing from the collaboration between Point Grey Pictures and Lionsgate, the revival marks Rogen and Goldberg’s latest venture following the success of their acclaimed comedy series “The Studio,” which garnered Emmy and Golden Globe recognition. Both Vancouver natives, the pair has a track record of hits including “Superbad,” “Pineapple Express,” “The Boys,” and a reboot of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”

In a statement from December 2024, Rogen and his partners affirmed their commitment to delivering top-notch Canadian content, aiming for a blend of creative innovation and financial success in their projects with Bell Media and Lionsgate Canada.
