Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited the set of “Son of a Critch” along with his youngest son, who shares his enthusiasm for the show. The 12-year-old Hadrien Trudeau will make a cameo appearance in an upcoming episode of the CBC comedy series. Creator Mark Critch mentioned that Hadrien will be seen as an extra in a scene where the main character’s classmates discover their roles in a school play.

During their visit to the Newfoundland set, Trudeau and his son met the cast and crew, with Hadrien impressing actor Malcolm McDowell with his knowledge about the character’s teacup. British actor Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, who plays the young Mark Critch, revealed that Hadrien engaged in discussions about acting decisions, blocking, and background tips.

Trudeau shared photos from the set on his Instagram, expressing gratitude for the experience and praising the show as quintessentially Canadian. Critch, known for his appearances with Trudeau on CBC’s “This Hour Has 22 Minutes,” discovered the duo’s appreciation for “Son of a Critch” during a book launch event in Ottawa.

Trudeau has three children, including Xavier (Xav) and Ella-Grace. Xav, aged 18, ventured into music and released his debut R&B track “Til The Nights Done” in 2025, featuring vocals from his younger sister. The former prime minister’s involvement in the show reflects his support for Canadian entertainment.

The behind-the-scenes interactions on the set garnered attention, showcasing the camaraderie between the political figure and the show’s creators and actors.
