On an upcoming Tuesday, Canada’s Finance Minister will reveal the highly anticipated budget. This budget is significant as it marks Mark Carney’s debut as Prime Minister during a period of national instability and uncertainty. Amid paused trade negotiations with the U.S., there is a push to stimulate economic growth, reduce expenditures, and enhance affordability for Canadians.
In order for Carney’s minority government to pass the budget, it requires support from other political parties. Failure to secure this support could potentially lead to a snap election. Rosemary Barton, the Chief Political Correspondent at CBC, joins us as a guest to discuss these developments.
