“Canadian Speedskater Valerie Maltais Wins Two Silver Medals”

Valerie Maltais, a speedskater from Canada, secured two silver medals at the World Cup event’s last day on Sunday.

Hailing from Saguenay, Quebec, Maltais finished the women’s mass start in 8 minutes 25.62 seconds, earning her the second-place spot.

The gold in the women’s mass start went to Mia Manganello of the United States with a time of 8:25.57, while Ji-Woo Park from South Korea claimed bronze with a time of 9:01.80.

Maltais, together with Ivanie Blondin and Isabelle Weidemann, both representing Ottawa, clinched the silver in the women’s team pursuit with a time of 2:52.40.

Canada’s Valerie Maltais, Ivanie Blondin, and Isabelle Weidemann claimed the silver medal at the World Cup Team Pursuit race in Salt Lake City on Sunday.

Japan secured the gold in the women’s team pursuit with a time of 2:52.13, while the American team took the bronze with a time of 2:54.01.

In the men’s mass start event, Antoine Gelinas-Beaulieu from Sherbrooke, Quebec, earned a bronze medal with a time of 7:40.31. He was surpassed by Jorrit Bergsma of the Netherlands (7:39.20) and Felix Maly of Germany (7:40.17).
