Alannah Keyser, a 21-year-old contestant, has been disqualified from the ongoing season of Love Island USA for using a racial slur in a surfaced online video. She was removed shortly after making a bombshell entrance during the Casa Amor episodes in the reality dating series on Peacock.

Upon her arrival at the villa on June 21, a Snapchat video emerged showing Keyser singing along to a song containing the N-word, which seemed to be Roddy Ricch’s 2019 track, “The Box.” Love Island USA narrator Iain Stirling announced her sudden departure during Thursday night’s episode, stating, “Alannah has left Casa Amor.”

Following her initial appearance on Season 8, where she appeared to connect with contestant Zach Georgiou, viewers observed a decline in Keyser’s screen time. Similar incidents have occurred in past seasons, such as Vasana Montgomery being removed for using a racial slur before the start of the show.

Last year, Yulissa Escobar and Cierra Ortega were also disqualified from Season 7 for separate incidents involving racial slurs. Escobar later issued an apology on Instagram, acknowledging her mistake and the impact of her words.

Keyser was contacted for a statement by CBC News but did not respond before the article’s publication.
