The event at SaskTel Centre is the third stop on the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series, featuring 18 Canadian athletes and numerous international stars. The competition spans three days from Friday to Sunday.
Among the Canadian contenders is Madeline Schizas, a three-time national champion securing her Olympic spot in the women’s event. Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps, reigning world champions fresh from a pairs silver medal win at the Grand Prix de France, are also participating in the event. The competition kicks off with the women’s and pairs short programs on Friday evening, followed by the men’s and rhythm dance events on Saturday, with the final performances culminating in the victory ceremony on Sunday afternoon.
