Wild People Quiet is set in 1940s Saskatchewan, following a Métis woman named Florence who conceals her heritage in a predominantly white town. When she encounters Métis farm workers, Florence is confronted with her hidden past, forcing her to make life-altering decisions.

Author Tara Gereaux, a member of the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan residing in Regina, is known for her previous works, Saltus and Size of a Fist, both recognized by the Saskatchewan Book Awards.
